Trekking Details

The Fairy Meadows Trek is an exhilarating five-day adventure that promises unforgettable experiences in the heart of Pakistan’s stunning landscapes. Starting with a thrilling jeep ride from Raikot Bridge to Tatu Village, this trek unfolds in the picturesque Diamer district, offering sweeping views of the mighty Nanga Parbat at 8,126 meters. Along the way, you’ll enjoy clear, starry nights and leisurely hikes through quaint valleys and lush meadows.
Your journey to the Fairy Meadows begins in Chilas, a gateway city in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. There are three main routes to Chilas, each offering unique vistas. The most scenic route is via Naran-Kaghan and Babusar Top, a journey that takes about 10-12 hours and offers abundant natural beauty. During winter, from November to May, Babusar Top is often closed due to snowfall, making the Karakoram Highway through Mansehra, Besham, and the Kohistan region a practical alternative. This route extends the travel time from Islamabad to approximately 14-16 hours. Alternatively, you can opt for a quick one-hour flight from Islamabad to Gilgit, followed by a 2-3 hour drive to Chilas.
The optimal time to embark on the Fairy Meadows Trek is between April and September, when the meadows burst into lush greenery, contrasted by the snow-capped peaks. This trek is accessible to anyone in good health and is particularly suited for beginners looking for an introduction to hiking amidst spectacular scenery. Despite the thrill, the jeep track from Raikot Bridge to Tatu Village is known as one of the world’s most challenging, yet the skilled local drivers handle it with remarkable ease, adding an element of adventure to your trek.
Whether you’re a nature lover seeking tranquility away from the bustle of city life or an adventure enthusiast craving a short but thrilling experience, the Fairy Meadows Trek offers the perfect escape into nature’s embrace.
