Tour Details

Nestled in the Upper Hunza Valley, the Patundas Hunza Trek offers a scenic and accessible journey. Setting out from Borit Lake, the trail passes through tranquil villages like Passu and Luzhdar before climbing to the alpine meadows of Patundas Ridge, perched between the glaciers of Passu and Batura .

At an elevation of roughly 4,200 m, this serene pasture reveals breathtaking, 360° panoramas of iconic Karakoram giants—Passu Peak, Batura Peak, Shishper, Dasteghil Sar, Momhil Sar, and Rakaposhi—floating above misty valleys.

The route, crossing the Passu Glacier’s moraine, is designed to be short and gentle, requiring only basic fitness, making it perfect for hikers of all ages.

Beyond its natural wonders, the trek also offers cultural encounters—especially with local Wakhi shepherds who graze their livestock in these meadows during summer months

Ideal from June through September, the journey strikes a beautiful harmony between jaw-dropping scenery and a taste of rural mountain life in one of Pakistan’s most pristine regions.

Patunda Passu Trek Highlights

The ultimate highlight of the Patundas Passu Trek is reaching the Patundas Meadow (approx. 4,200–4,300 meters) — a stunning high-altitude grassy plateau situated between the Passu Glacier and Batura Glacier. From this vantage point, you get 360-degree views of iconic peaks in the Karakoram Range, including:

  • Passu Cones (Passu Cathedral)
  • Shispare Peak (7,611 m)
  • Batura I (7,795 m)
  • Ultar Sar (7,388 m)
  • Ladyfinger Peak
  • Diran Peak (in the distance)

The contrast of the green alpine meadow, white glaciers, and jagged peaks creates an unforgettable visual spectacle — especially at sunrise or sunset.
