Trekking Details

Boisum and Chafchingol, two towering passes located in the remote Ghuzherav Mountains, form a vital connection between Shimshal village and Koksil, near the Karakoram Highway, just 17 km west of the Khunjerab Pass. This route through the South and North Ghuzherav mountains presents a spectacular yet demanding trekking experience. While Boisum Pass is free from glacial obstacles, Chafchingol Pass presents a more challenging ascent due to its glaciated nature.
The journey to Chafchingol Pass requires multiple crossings of a deep and swift-flowing river, followed by a climb through Class 2 scree and unstable rock. The descent involves navigating a crevassed glacier, adding an element of adventure and challenge to the trek. This trek not only tests the endurance and skill of adventurous souls but also rewards them with the raw beauty of one of the most secluded mountain regions.
