Experience the Magic of Hunza in Autumn: A Journey Like No Other
Every autumn, we invite travelers to embark on an unforgettable tour through the breathtaking Hunza Valley—one of Pakistan’s most captivating destinations. With years of expertise under our belt, we’ve carefully designed this itinerary to ensure both your safety and enjoyment while capturing the golden hues and crisp mountain air that make Hunza a true seasonal paradise.
While we aim to follow the day-by-day itinerary as outlined, travel in the northern mountains can sometimes be unpredictable. Weather shifts, road conditions, and local events may require minor changes. But rest assured—our experienced tour guides are always ready to adapt plans to make the best of every situation with minimal inconvenience to you.
Traveling to Hunza in the fall is all about embracing the adventure. From sudden changes in weather to spontaneous cultural encounters, this journey rewards those with an open heart and flexible spirit. Whether you’re admiring the fiery orange leaves of ancient apricot trees or sharing tea with locals in a cozy roadside chai shop, Hunza is a place where the unexpected becomes the most memorable part of your trip.
This tour is also about connection—sharing stories, supporting one another, and traveling as a team. If you’re ready to explore one of Pakistan’s most enchanting valleys during its most beautiful season, then our Hunza Autumn Tour is the perfect adventure for you.
Day 1: Arrival in Islamabad, Pakistan
Welcome to Pakistan! Most international flights land in the morning at Islamabad International Airport, where our friendly staff will be waiting to greet you. After a smooth transfer to your hotel, take some time to relax and recover from your journey. In the evening, once all participants have arrived, we’ll gather for a tour briefing about your upcoming Hunza Valley autumn adventure. If time allows, you’ll also have the option to explore Islamabad—a lush, modern capital built in 1961.
Day 2: Drive to Naran or Chilas (461 km | 8–9 hours)
After breakfast, we begin our journey north on the legendary Karakoram Highway. Traveling in a comfortable mini coach, you’ll pass through scenic valleys, green hills, and vibrant small towns before reaching your overnight stay in either Naran or Chilas, depending on road conditions. Prepare for a long but stunning drive through the heart of Pakistan’s mountainous terrain.
Day 3: Drive to Karimabad, Hunza (150 km | 5 hours)
Today, the true mountain magic begins. As we continue along the Karakoram Highway, the landscape grows increasingly dramatic. You’ll follow the winding Indus and Hunza Rivers into the heart of Gilgit-Baltistan. With views of towering peaks and shimmering glaciers, this road is considered one of the most scenic routes in the world. We arrive in Karimabad by early afternoon.
Day 4: Rest Day & Sightseeing in Karimabad (2,440m)
Karimabad, the historical capital of Hunza, is the perfect place to slow down and soak in your surroundings. Wander its cobbled lanes, shop for local handicrafts and gemstones, and visit the iconic Baltit and Altit forts for panoramic views of the valley. Don’t miss sampling Hunza’s wholesome cuisine and watching the sunset light up the surrounding peaks.
Day 5: Visit Eagle’s Nest Viewpoint
A short yet scenic drive takes us up the switchback roads to Eagle’s Nest, one of the best viewpoints in the region. From here, you’ll witness a 360-degree panorama of the Hunza Valley in all its autumn glory—fiery foliage, snow-dusted peaks, and deep river gorges. We’ll spend the night camping under the stars, with the Milky Way stretching overhead. Sunrise here is unforgettable.
Day 6: Drive to Khunjerab Pass (4,880m)
Strap in for an epic journey to Khunjerab Pass, the highest paved border crossing in the world, linking Pakistan and China. With its stark, glacier-filled valleys and windswept plateaus, this drive is one of the tour’s highlights. We’ll make several photo and chai stops before heading to our hotel in Passu for the night.
Day 7: Drive to Naran via Gulmit (6–7 hours)
After breakfast, we head south through the picturesque village of Gulmit. As we retrace our route along the Karakoram Highway, the journey offers new perspectives of the valleys and peaks you saw before. Rakaposhi Peak’s glowing evening view is a memorable sight. We’ll spend the night in Naran.
Day 8: Return to Islamabad
Our adventure winds down with a drive back to Islamabad. We arrive in the late afternoon and check into the hotel. Take time to rest or explore the city at your leisure.
Day 9: Islamabad Sightseeing & Free Day
Enjoy a relaxed day in the capital. Visit local markets for souvenirs, explore cultural sites, or just unwind. This day is yours to enjoy as you like.
Day 10: Departure
