The Nangma Valley Trek, often dubbed the “Yosemite of Pakistan,” is a captivating journey through the Karakoram Range in Gilgit-Baltistan. This trek offers a blend of stunning landscapes, rich culture, and thrilling adventure, making it a must-do for trekkers and climbers alike.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Islamabad

Arrive at Islamabad International Airport and transfer to your hotel. After some time to relax, begin your introduction to the capital with visits to iconic landmarks such as the Faisal Mosque, Pakistan Monument, and Lok Virsa Museum, which showcases the country’s rich cultural heritage.

Day 2: Islamabad – Skardu

Take a scenic flight over the Himalayas and the Karakoram to reach Skardu, the heart of Baltistan. Spend the day exploring the town’s key attractions including Manthal Buddha Rock, the historic Kharpocho Fort, and the lively Skardu Bazaar.
Note: In case of flight cancellation due to weather, an alternative road journey along the Karakoram Highway will be arranged, with scenic stops en route.

Day 3: Skardu – Khaplu

Drive east through the stunning Ghanche district, stopping at the confluence of the Shyok and Indus Rivers, and visiting the villages of Thorgo Pari and Yugo. Enjoy a traditional Balti lunch in Yugo, followed by a cultural walk to experience local village life. Arrive in Khaplu and visit the beautifully restored Khaplu Fort and its organic garden.

Day 4: Khaplu – Kanday – Mingulo Broq | 6 km

After breakfast, drive to the village of Kanday. From there, begin a scenic trek to Mingulo Broq (3,500m), passing through alpine meadows and dramatic granite formations. Enjoy the peaceful setting as you settle into your campsite.

Trekking: 6 km | Ascent: 600m

Day 5: Mingulo Broq – Nangma Valley | 3.5 km

Trek through lush green fields and along a glacial stream to reach the beautiful Nangma Valley (3,950m). After lunch at camp, you’ll have time to explore this dramatic and peaceful area at your own pace.

Trekking: 3.5 km | Ascent: 450m

Day 6: Free Day in Nangma Valley

Enjoy a rest day surrounded by some of the Karakoram’s most unique landscapes. Optional hike to Amin Brakk Base Camp (4,500m), known for its iconic rock tower. Spend the day relaxing, exploring the glacial valley, or observing local birdlife and wildflowers.

Day 7: Nangma – Kanday – Skardu 

Trek back to Kanday, then share a traditional meal with a local host family. Later drive to Skardu (approx. 5 hours drive)

Day 8: Skardu – Islamabad

Transfer to Skardu Airport for your return flight to Islamabad.

Day 09: Departure Day

After breakfast, transfer to Islamabad International Airport for your international departure. Safe travels!
